Simon Billy is a 26 year old French speed skier, racing in S1.
Simon is the third fastest skier in the world, ever. For 3 years (2015-2017) he's been totally committed to Chabrières, and an all out attack on the World Record.
He could not found in any other Speed Skiing track during the season.
In Speed Masters 2016, he beat Simone Origone's record from 2015 and had the World Record for a breathtaking minute until Simone beat him by 0,2 km/h and Ivan Origone wrote history with 254 km/h. In the World Record attempts for 2017 he suffered a horrible crash, spending spring, summer and autumn with rehab and physiotherapy.
For 2018 he is back.
Simon Billy was born in Montpellier, France. He started skiing when he was 2 years old. When he was 6, he started his first speed skiing competition, the junior French Championships "le challenge Quiksilver" in Vars. His father Philippe is a ski instructor and former Speed Skiing World record holder. Simon and his brother Louis, has been growing up in the Chabrières slope, racing together since day one.
Today, Simon's father are their coach. The family are working on the Chabrières Speed Ski World Record track in Vars, developing speedski, organising races and activites for profesionals, speedskiers, kids and tourists. If you want to try, Simon is the guy to ask.
In the summer he plays tennis and works out to prepare for the winter. Simon has the same focus all year around.
Better.
Faster.
