Rauli Karjalainen

Rauli Karjalainen is a speed skier in the S1 category representing USA.

Rauli was born in Jämsä in Finland. He started skiing when he was 6 years old. He's been an alpine racer throughout the years. Nowadays he lives in Mountain Green, Utah and spent much time Masters racing around Snowbasin. He wanted things to go faster, so he decided to try Speed Skiing.

In Andorra 2014 he made his premiere in the SDH class. After a few runs he was hooked. He decided to search for the 200 limit and switched to S1 for the 2015 season. Rauli's personal best is 186,520 km/h from the Chabrieres track in Vars 2016.

Rauli prepares for the speed ski season by cycling both road and mountainbike.
