Evgeniy Cherevatiy (Евгений Череватый) is a Russian S1 racer. Born in Kirovsk in Murmansk, yes up in the very northern parts of Russia, a place known for it's mountains where ski lifts are accessible directly from the town.
Evgeniy is the 3'rd fastest Russian skier ever.
He started training and racing the alpine disciplines, SL, GS, SG, DH, and later also Ski Cross. He always wanted to try Speed Skiing. This was much due to his coach who was the cheif of track when there once was a Speed Ski competition in Kirovsk, Russia in 1976. The coach told his racers about the event, and they sometimes practiced Speed Ski training, because he believed that it was useful to be accustomed to high speeds in the other alpine disciplines.
In 2012 Evgeniy finally joined the FIS Speed Ski World Cup, and in his debut he skied 143.54 km/h in the beautiful Grandvalira, Andorra. Already the next year, in Vars, he increased his speed to 195,33 km/h. In Verbier the same year he broke the 200 wall with 208.13 km/h.
Looking at positions, Evgeniys best track is Grandvalira, where he's been 6'th and 8'th in FIS Speed Ski World Cup Races.
His personal best is 220.859 km/h, from Speed Masters 2016 at the Chabrieres Track in Vars.
Evgeniy lives in St. Petersburg now. In the summer you may find him climbing, cycling or even doing the triathlon.
